Our Research Design

This pilot study on will look at the pandemic/lockdown effects on the mental health of adolescents, aged 12-18 years, in New York City. We will look at the PHQ-2 (Patient Health Questionnaire-2) and PHQ-9 scores of adolescents, and compare 2019 scores to 2020 scores.

We hypothesize that adolescents’ responses to the PHQ-2 and PHQ-9 questionnaires in 2020 will indicate more prevalent depression rates than scores from 2019.
