Why Small Scale?
As we know, good things come in small packages. There is a satisfaction knowing that a tiny piece of art can mean so much to the owner. Also, one of the ways we have harmed our Mother Earth is our tendency to "excessivize" everything: our cars, our energy consumption, our material possessions. By going small, we hope to still express our art while leaving only a tiny physical footprint behind.

Ok, But Why 10x10cm?
There is something about the number 10 that just feels so... complete. Maybe it's because humans (tend to) have 10 fingers and 10 toes. And 10x10 = 100, which is just the original number with another 0. And as we march more and more toward a world of 0's and 1's, it feels timely to have our art pieces measured (in the metric system, thank you very much!) in 1's and 0's.

Alright, Tell Me About The Art
So, Mother Nature has a LOT to teach us. We can learn so much about ourselves just by observing her: how life responds to difficulties and live in collaboration with each other. And if we stop and think about it for a minute, there are so many similarities between humans and other living beings. We at 5petals art.studio hope that drawing parallels between the subject and the viewer will help the latter gain a deeper understanding of their place in the world.
